Phi Kappa Psi
Iowa Beta Chapter
Activities...
Socials
At Iowa Beta, we host many social events with sororities and other fraternities to try to widen our community. In years past, we have hosted petting zoos on our front lawn, rented inflatable obstacle courses, and had volleyball tournaments on our own sand volleyball court!
Formals
During the spring semester, the men of Iowa Beta embark on an out-of-state formal. These formals typically provide a venue, food, and many activities to do with your fellow brothers. In years past, members have traveled to Chicago, Kansas City, and beyond!
Brothers also love to take trips on their own. Often times this features weekend trips, spring breaks, and away football games. Many of our brothers have traveled to rival colleges, like Oklahoma and Texas, to cheer on our Cyclones. While at these universities, they make sure to pay a visit to other Phi Psi's. This just goes to show the brotherhood that we embrace stretches far outside the walls of only Iowa Beta!
Philanthropy
Each semester, the philanthropy chairs plan a philanthropy to benefit an organization of our choice.
Throughout the year, brothers engage in a variety of activities guided by our four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Brotherhood
In addition to our annually organized philanthropic events, many of our members spend time serving the community through fellow organizations and events. These include Dance Marathon, the Blood Drive, Adopt a Highway, Relay for Life, and many more. Phi Kappa Psi encourages all members to utilize their talents and abilities to give back to those around them, and the opportunities to do so in Ames are endless!
Here at Iowa State, we are enthusiastic competitors in Homecoming and Greek Week with a variety of activities including Yell Like Hell, Lip Sync, Greek Olmypics, Lawn Decs, Intramurals, and more. However, we don't limit the good times to these two week-long events; at Phi Psi, we're alway on the lookout for "phun" activities.
